Don’t hire the wrong photographer.
Wedding Photography is timeless and is really all you have left after all is said and done. You’ve probably seen a lot of imagery online promoting weddings and portraits. A nice portrait or one nice engagement image doesn’t equate to good wedding photography.
Photographers can curate amazing social media post and amazing engagement portraits, even wedding day portraits. Some of those photos can be fake couples from a styled shoot, which was put together intentionally. A styled shoot is not the same as a wedding day.
Anticipating moments and being able to elicit natural emotion from a couple can take years to accomplish. At the end of it all you want your wedding and engagement photos to not just be posed uncomfortable imagery, you want your grandchildren to see you for who were and how you loved one another.
After all of your planning your wedding day will fly by in the blink of an eye. Meaning you want a photographer who will capture those authentic candid moments that you will appreciate for years to come.
Versatility is KEY on a wedding day., when photography is involved What happens when it rains, or what if you’ve chosen a mood for your day that doesn’t involve natural light? Will your photographer be able to make the necessary adjustments and capture your day the way you envision it? You want to make sure your photographer can capture photos at night, in a dark ballroom, and be creative when the time comes.
This blog post is not to discourage you from choosing a person who’s work you’ve fallen in love with. Only to make you think about what you will have as an end product from your big day. I encourage all perspective brides and clients to look at full galleries from a photographer, not only portraits.
